What a Workday at a Mesa Event Looks Like

A typical day starts with getting ready, moves to the church or ceremony site and ends at the reception hall. In Mesa we have covered weddings and quinceañeras at Lindsay Grove, The Wright House, Arizona Golf Resort, Sahara Reception Hall, Versalles Reception Hall and Eduardo's Reception Hall, and Masses at Queen of Peace Catholic Church and San Maximiliano Kolbe.

Pre-event photo sessions for our Mesa events have taken place at The Wright House, Lindsay Grove and Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa, and at Papago Park and Tempe Town Lake in Tempe. See what those days look like in our Mesa event gallery.

What We Expect From an IAZ Photo Studio Photographer or Videographer

  • Working as a pair. Before the ceremony, the photographer and videographer agree on who stands where, so neither blocks the other.
  • Following the timeline. Each family sends us their timeline one month ahead, and the team arrives knowing where to be at every moment.
  • Planning for the light. Sessions are planned for late-afternoon light, and arriving on time is part of the job.
  • Looking after minors. Every session with anyone under 18 has an adult from the family present. Without that adult, the session does not go ahead.
  • Working in two languages. We serve families in English or Spanish, and sometimes in both at the same party.

What the IAZ Photo Studio Team Values

The studio began in 2004 with a single promise: cover a wedding well because it would never happen again. The team still values the same things. Keep what the contract says, treat every family with respect, and deliver work that passes the studio's review.

Cristobal Varela, Sonia Varela and Melanie Rocha set the style, train our photographers and videographers, and review every delivery. Whoever joins the team learns that style and works within it. Read the full story on our about page.
