Choosing a Mesa Hall With Your Photos and Video in Mind

The Mesa venues where we've covered weddings and quinceañeras include Lindsay Grove, The Wright House, Arizona Golf Resort, Sahara Reception Hall, Versalles Reception Hall, Garden Tuscana and Eduardo's Reception Hall, plus Masses at Queen of Peace and San Maximiliano Kolbe. Below is what kind of place each one is and what to plan for your photos and video, with no rankings: the right hall is the one that fits your date, your guest list and your budget.

Your hall also decides the light in your photos, the room you have for your entrance and where your portraits happen. That's why it pays to look at it like a photographer before you sign.

What to Check in a Hall So Your Photos and Video Turn Out Well

Check four things: the light, the dance floor, an outdoor spot and a room to get ready.

  • Light. A very dark hall looks dark on video too, so ask whether they can raise the lights for your entrance, the waltz and the cake.
  • Dance floor. You need room to dance and room for the photographer and videographer to move without blocking guests.
  • Outdoor spot. A garden, courtyard or fountain gives you natural-light portraits before dark.
  • Getting-ready room. Getting-ready photos look best with a window and space for the dress.

Mesa Halls and Gardens Where We've Covered Weddings and Quinceañeras

Each venue's details come from its official site and can change, so confirm them before you book.

Lindsay Grove, a Victorian-Style Estate With Gardens in Mesa

Lindsay Grove is a Victorian-style estate with botanical gardens, an elevated covered ceremony pavilion, a stone waterfall, stained glass and a spiral staircase. Its site lists room for 200 guests, exclusive use of the property and getting-ready suites (Lindsay Grove's site (opens in a new tab), checked on November 7, 2026).

Everything happens in one place with no driving, which leaves more time for garden portraits late in the afternoon. We covered María and César's wedding there on November 26, 2022, with their couple session, ceremony and reception all at Lindsay Grove. See María and César's wedding.

The Wright House, Gardens and a Ballroom in Mesa Since 1991

The Wright House is an independent wedding and event venue in Mesa, open since 1991. Its site describes a garden with lawns, flowerbeds, mature shade trees and a gazebo; a Provence-style courtyard with fountains and terraces; and an indoor ballroom with a covered veranda (The Wright House's site (opens in a new tab), checked on November 7, 2026).

The shade trees help on hot afternoons. We photographed Irais and Gustavo's couple session there, along with the quinceañera sessions of Emily and Shiomara. It's a private venue, so you book the session with the venue. Its site lists walk-in tours on Mondays from 5 to 8 p.m. unless an event is in progress (checked on November 7, 2026), a good time to see the evening light.

Arizona Golf Resort, Now Golden Hills Golf Club, in Mesa

Arizona Golf Resort now goes by Golden Hills Golf Club. Its site lists two ballrooms, two courtyards, a pavilion and outdoor ceremony sites for up to 200 guests with a fountain view. The largest ballroom holds up to 250 for a reception with a dance floor (Golden Hills Golf Club event spaces (opens in a new tab), checked on November 7, 2026).

Betsy and Luis embracing at Arizona Golf Resort during their couple session in Mesa, Arizona

The fountains and the course give you open backdrops for portraits without leaving the property. Betsy and Luis had their couple session there before their wedding. See Betsy and Luis's wedding.

Sahara Reception Hall in Mesa

At this Mesa reception hall we covered Abbigail's baby blue and silver quinceañera reception, after her Mass at Queen of Peace. It was photo-only coverage. See Abbigail's quinceañera.

Versalles Reception Hall in Mesa

This Mesa reception hall hosted Stacey's burgundy and gold quinceañera reception. Her Mass was at Queen of Peace in Mesa, and her pre-event session was at Tempe Town Lake in Tempe. See Stacey's quinceañera.

Eduardo's Reception Hall in Mesa, Where Several of Our Families Celebrated

At Eduardo's Reception Hall in Mesa we covered the ceremony and reception for Irais and Gustavo's and Betsy and Luis's weddings, and the ceremony and reception for Emily's quinceañera. Shiomara's reception was there too, after her Mass.

Garden Tuscana Reception Hall in Mesa

Garden Tuscana has a garden for ceremonies or cocktails and a ballroom for up to 500 guests, with a suite for makeup, outfit changes and photos. Its site says garden-only packages hold up to 150 guests and the garden must close by 10 p.m. (Garden Tuscana's site and its quinceañera page, checked on November 7, 2026). If your ceremony is in the garden, plan your portraits before the sun goes down.

Villa Tuscana, Pearl's and Venecia, Other Mesa Halls Where We've Worked

We've also covered events at Villa Tuscana Reception Hall, at Pearl's and at Venecia Reception Hall, all three in Mesa. Evelyn's quinceañera party was at Venecia Reception Hall, after her session in Queen Creek. Ask each one for the details of its spaces and hours using the questions in the table below.

Mesa Churches Where We've Covered Quinceañera Masses

Every parish sets its own rules for photographers and videographers. Ask the parish office when you reserve your date.

  • Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Mesa. The parish offers Sunday Masses in Spanish (Queen of Peace's site (opens in a new tab), checked on November 7, 2026). We covered the quinceañera Masses of Abbigail and Stacey there.
  • San Maximiliano Kolbe, in Mesa. This is where Shiomara's quinceañera Mass took place, before her reception.

Questions to Ask a Hall Before You Sign the Contract

Bring this list to your tour so you can compare halls on the same facts.

Question for the hall Why it matters for your photos and video
What time can vendors arrive? We can photograph the decor before guests walk in.
What time does the event end, and when does the music stop? It sets how many hours of coverage you need and when to plan the last dance.
Is there a meal or a space for vendors? Over 8 to 12 hours, the crew needs somewhere to rest and set down gear.
Can I use the garden or courtyard for photos? Natural-light portraits need permission and a time slot before sunset.
Can you raise the lights for the entrance, the waltz and the cake? More light makes those moments look better in photos and on video.
Is there a getting-ready room? Getting-ready photos need space and, ideally, a window.
Does the hall's package include a photographer? Can I remove it? You avoid paying twice and having two crews fighting for the same angles.

How Your Hall Fits Into the Rest of Your Planning

Once your hall is booked, follow the timeline in our Mesa quinceañera vendor guide, which tells you what to reserve at 12, 9, 6 and 3 months. Frequently Asked Questions About Mesa Event Venues

How do I choose an event venue in Mesa for my quinceañera or wedding?

Choose the hall that has your date open, fits your guests and fits your budget. For photos and video, look for good light, a roomy dance floor and an outdoor spot for portraits.

What happens if my reception runs past 10 p.m.?

Our coverage ends at 10:00 p.m.; after that, extra time is billed at $150 per hour. If your hall stays open later, plan the last dance earlier or add that time to your contract.

Do you charge travel to cover an event at a Mesa hall?

No. There's no travel fee within 50 driving miles of Tempe, Arizona (I-10 and US-60), and all of Mesa is inside that range. Beyond it, travel is quoted on the full driving distance and agreed in writing before the date.

How many hours of coverage do I need if the Mass and reception are in different places?

Coverage hours are continuous and include the drive from the church to the hall. Count from getting ready to the last dance you want on video; our packages cover 8, 10 or 12 hours.

Can you work at a hall whose package includes a photographer?

Yes, if the hall allows outside vendors. Ask whether you can remove photography from the hall's package before you sign, so you don't pay twice.
